Vivo is gearing up for the launch of a new handset under its S-series. Dubbed as Vivo S9 5G, the smartphone has leaked several times ahead of the official launch. The phone is also said to be one of the first to come with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1100 processor. Now, a new leak has revealed some of the specifications of the upcoming phone.
According to leaksters Digital Chat Station and Arsenal (via Gizmochina), Vivo S9 will come with a dual-front camera with a 44-megapixel primary sensor and 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. The primary sensor is said to be Samsung GH1. On the back, it will have a triple rear camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The phone is rumoured to come with a 6.44-inch display with an AMOLED panel and 90Hz refresh rate. Leaks suggest the phone will have a 2.5D glass on the back and gradient design. It will be 7.31mm thick and weigh around 168 grams.
Other leaked features are a 4,000mAh battery with 33W flash charge. It will also come in two variants – 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB.
The latest leaks are in line with the recent reports that also said the phone would have 90HZ full HD+ display and Android 11.
The Gizmochina report points out that the Vivo S9 appears to be identical to the Vivo V20 Pro in terms of design and other features. The biggest draw, however, is going to be the MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chip.
The 5G chip had debuted last month alongside Dimensity 1200. The latest chip comes with features such as 5G carrier aggregation (2CC) across frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD), dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS), True Dual SIM 5G (5G SA + 5G SA) and Voice over New Radio (VoNR). Both Dimensity 1100 and 1200 are based on 6nm process.
