“The naming convention of ColorOS 11 (the previous iteration was OS 7) and rollout proximity demonstrate that OPPO is working closer than ever with Google to develop its software and align itself more with the stock Android,” said the company in a release.

Oppo is one of the few non-Google brands to announce Android 11 update for its users. Earlier, Realme said it is rolling out Android 11 preview for Realme X50 users.

That said, Google has officially rolled out Android 11 update for select handsets. The latest software is available on select phones from brands such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo and Realme.

Google’s Android 11 brings a variety of new features and enhancements for existing users. For privacy, Android 11 comes with a one-time permissions feature. As the name implies, it enables users to grant permissions to their camera sensors only once. You can also manually override this feature. Another privacy feature of Android 11 is the auto-resent. This feature essentially blocks permissions to your device sensors or data of an app that has not been used in a while.
