Galaxy Buds Live iFixit teardown reveals Samsung also calls it beans

Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds Live earlier this month. The new wireless earbuds from Samsung resemble the vegetable beans and while it isn’t officially called ‘Galaxy Beans’, internally it has the name.

This comes from iFixit’s teardown of the Galaxy Buds Live wireless earbuds. In the teardown video, the Galaxy Buds are called ‘Bean Left’ and ‘Bean Right’ for both the earbuds. These names are quite visible and are printed on the cable connecting the earbuds inside. Samsung didn’t go with the ‘Beans’ name for its wireless earbuds but it looks like it’s still called beans internally. Also, it would have been so much more fun if the wireless earbuds were actually called Galaxy Beans or Buds Beans.

iFixit said that the Galaxy Buds Live are one of the easiest buds they’ve opened so far. There’s a lot of pink panels inside the buds holding the components. The Galaxy Buds Live used in the teardown are the ones in ‘Mystic Bronze’. The battery used in the Galaxy Buds Live is identical to the ones found in the first Galaxy Buds. iFixit mentions that these batteries are difficult to find online.

The charging case of the Galaxy Buds Live also went through a teardown. The battery size of the charging case is 472mAh/1.81 Wh. Samsung hasn’t revealed the battery capacity of the Buds Live or its charging case but both are together claimed to last for 29 hours on full charge. The Galaxy Buds Live got a score of 8 on repairability from iFixit. The Buds are easy to open, has a modular construction and easily replaceable batteries.
