Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max vs Galaxy S21 Ultra: Drop test (EverythingApplePro/YouTube)

Both Apple and Samsung claim their flagship smartphones, iPhone 12 Pro Max and Galaxy S21 Ultra, are strong, more rigid and will last long. Both are made using metal and glass elements and are water resistant. While the Galaxy S21 Ultra boasts of Gorilla Glass Victus and an aluminium frame, iPhone 12 Pro Max features company’s own Ceramic Glass solution and a stainless steel frame. However, there can only be one winner and YouTuber EverythingApplePro seems to have shown it in a video. The YouTuber drop tests both the premium handsets and sees which one lasts longer and takes more damage when dropped from certain height.

In the video we see both the smartphones taking minor scuffs when dropped from waist height on their sides, back and face. But when dropped from the face height, we see one of the rims of the telephoto lens popping out of Galaxy S21 Ultra with no other visible damages. iPhone 12 Pro Max manages to service this one as well.

The first major damage is seen when the iPhone 12 Pro Max is dropped from 10-feet height. The entire back is seen cracked. However, when dropped facing towards the ground, iPhone display interestingly survives the test without any cracks whereas the Victus-protected Galaxy S21 Ultra’s screen is shattered from the corner and the under-display fingerprint sensor stops working.

Its worth adding that both these phones run on 5nm-based chipsets. While the iPhone 12 series became the first to come with this chipset (A14 Bionic) last year, Samsung Galaxy S21 series came last month with Exynos 2100 SoC.
