Samsung to launch a foldable tablet soon

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip smartphones last year. Reports have hinted that the company will be launching three new foldable smartphones this. Now, a new report says that the company is planning to launch a tri-folding tablet soon.

According to a report by Lets Go Digital, Samsung Electronics has registered a trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) that hints towards the company’s intention of launching a foldable tablet under its Z-Fold lineup. The company’s new device is said to be marketed under the name 'Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Tab'.

The report also said that trademark application has been categorised as Class 9 by the company with the description ‘smartphones, tablet computers.’ Interestingly, the report notes that Samsung has not used the ‘Galaxy Z Fold’ designation previously, which indicates that a Galaxy Z Fold tablet is indeed in the works.

Furthermore, the report says that the company is expected to launch the new tri-folding tablet in the first quarter of 2022 and that it is expected to feature support for S-Pen stylus. The display of the device is tipped to be made of a new type of ultra-thin-glass (UTG) that is likely to enhance the SPen usage.
