Watch Apple getting trolled by Samsung and Xiaomi for not including charger, earpods in iPhone box

Apple took a drastic step this year by announcing that it won’t be offering a charging adapter and earpods inside the box of iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro models and all others going forward. While the reason behind this move was to reduce the carbon footprint, it’s Android rivals found an opportunity to take a jab at it. And unsurprisingly, the first one came from Samsung. The South Korean tech firm took it to Facebook for trolling the iPhone maker.

The post showed an image of the Samsung Galaxy Fast Charger adapter with a text below “Included with your Galaxy.” Even in the description, the firm’s official page posted that “Your #Galaxy does give you what you are looking for. From the most basic as a charger, to the best camera, battery, performance, memory and even 120Hz screen on a smartphone.”

And while this wasn’t enough of a ‘burn’ for Apple, another popular Android smartphone maker, Xiaomi took a jab at the move. On Twitter, the company posted a video promoting its recently launched Mi 10T Pro with a description “Don't worry, we didn't leave anything out of the box with the #Mi10TPro.” The video simply shows a Mi 10T box, which when opened showed a charging adapter up front.

But all the jokes aside, why is Apple doing this? It’s because the firm is pushing to cut carbon emission and improve the environment. It has claimed that by 2030 the entire firm will be 100% carbon emission free. So, by removing accessories, Apple says it can cut iPhone packaging by 70% and ship more stock at the same time.

We might see other brands making a similar move in future as well. And it may include both Samsung and Xiaomi. However, for now, iPhone 12 and 12 Pro users get a Type-C to Lightning cable inside the box as the only accessory. They can separately get the MagSafe Charger to charge their handsets at 15W speeds, wirelessly.
