Just last week it was reported that PUBG Mobile India was briefly teased on YouTube. The video now taken down was another “coming soon” teaser for PUBG Mobile India. It’s been months since the redesigned game was announced but its launch is yet to happen. Now according to some reports, PUBG Mobile India will launch as “Battlegrounds Mobile India”.
Based on source code data of PUBG Mobile India’s website discovered by Gemwire, there’s a new creative that suggests the game will instead be called “Battlegrounds Mobile India”. AFKGaming also reported that Krafton had purchased multiple domains which contain the Battlegrounds Mobile India name. The URL of PUBG Mobile India’s Facebook page also carries the new moniker. The name change doesn’t necessarily give out any other details but it does suggest that the launch might be around the corner. PUBG Mobile India also recently received the go ahead from the Indian government.
The wait for PUBG Mobile India has actually been quite long as the mobile game was announced to launch back in November last year. But it looks like there are still some eager fans. The launch announcement was made with much fanfare with a dedicated website, and teaser videos that followed. Since then fans have been eagerly waiting for the PUBG Mobile India launch but were left disappointed multiple times
PUBG Mobile was banned along with other Chinese apps last year. PUBG Corporation and Krafton later announced it will launch PUBG Mobile India that’s tailor made for the Indian market. Other than security issues being the reason behind the government’s decision to ban PUBG Mobile, the game has time and again received backlash for its violent content.
