Xiaomi Redmi 9A to launch in India today, check specifications, features, and price

Xiaomi will launch a new smartphone today. Touted as “Desh ka Smartphone,” the company will unveil Redmi 9A at 12 noon. The sale of the phone will start on September 4. It is already listed on Amazon India as well.

Redmi 9A will join Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 Prime and Redmi 9 smartphones. The phone was originally unveiled in July this year alongside Redmi 9 and Redmi 9C. The smartphone is available in Europe for EUR 99 ( ₹8,500 approximately).

Redmi 9A features a 6.53-inch HD+ LCD display with a dewdrop-like notch. The phone runs on a MediaTek Helio G25 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The phone also supports expandable storage via a microSD card. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery.

It has a single 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Other key features of the phone include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 10W charging support, dual-SIM and dual VoLTE, and micro USB port.

Redmi 9A will compete with a range of entry-level smartphones that have a 5,000mAh battery and a similar set of specifications.

Just yesterday, Tecno launched Spark Go 2020 in India for ₹6,499. The phone has a 6.52-inch HD+ display. It runs on MediaTek Helio A20 quad-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage. It also supports expandable storage up to 256GB.

The smartphone features 13-megapixel dual AI camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Tecno Spark Go 2020 is available in Aqua Blue and Ice Jadeite colour options.

Other competing smartphones are Infinix Smart 4 Plus, Realme C3, and Nokia C3.
