Gadget report: Asus Transformer Pad Infinity, Sony Google TV

High-tech product releases announced the week ending June 27 include the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity, the Sony NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV, the Motorola Razr V, a designer PC, and a wearable video camera for hands-free shooting.

A set-top box and Blu-ray player that put Google on the big screen
Sony's NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV and NSZ-GP9 Blu-ray player put the Google TV experience on your existing TV, bringing full web browsing, Android apps from the Google Play Store and mobile connectivity to the big screen. Both the NSZ-GP9 and the NSZ-GS7 come with a new remote control that features a QWERTY keyboard, a touch panel and three-axis motion sensors for playing games. Sony's NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV will go on sale in the US on July 22 for $199. The set-top box will then see a wider roll-out in Canada, Australia, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Brazil, and Mexico. The NSZ-GP9 Blu-ray Disc player with Google TV will be available from fall in the United States, followed later by Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Netherlands. The NSZ-GP9 will be priced at $299.

A powerful tablet that transforms into an ultrabook
The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 is a tablet that transforms into a laptop when it's connected with its QWERTY keyboard dock. It features a 1.6GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor, an 8MP camera, 1080p video playback, and a high-res 1920x1200 display with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It weighs in at less than 600g, measures 8.5mm and has 14 hours of battery life (when plugged into the keyboard dock, 9.5 hours without). The Transformer Pad Infinity is set to go on sale in the US from July 16 from $499 (32GB version).

An iconic smartphone with programmable Smart Actions
The Motorola Razr V is a super-slim smartphone destined for the Asian market. It sports a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a large 4.3" display, an 8MP camera, and a splash-guard coating to protect it from water. The Razr V measures a slim 8.35mm. It will ship with Android 4.0 and comes with Smart Actions, a feature that you can use to program the phone to do things like automatically turn off the ringer while you sleep or dim the screen when the battery gets low. The Razr V will be available in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand in Q3 2012. No price has been announced.

Designer PC for homes where looks matter
LCD HDTV maker Vizio has released a Windows-based premium desktop computer. The All-in-One PC comes in both 24" and 27" versions and features a full HD display (1920 × 1080 resolution), 2.1 surround sound with external subwoofer, a 1.3MP camera with microphone, a wireless keyboard and touchpad, 3rd generation Intel dual- or quad-core processors, and up to 1TB internal hard drives. The PC is priced from $1,099.99 and is available now.

A wearable video camera POV and action sports filming
Sony is developing a high-end HD wearable video camera that's designed to do all the hard work while you're out conquering the world. The camera will feature Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization technology to minimize blur. It will come with both an Exmor R CMOS image sensor for low-light shooting and an ultra-wide angle Carl Zeiss Tessar lens so you can fit more action into the frame. It will be housed in a compact, lightweight body that can be teamed up with a number of mounting attachments including waterproof and ruggedized housings. The wearable camera is expected to be launched in fall 2012. Pricing has not been announced.
