‘Get Active India’ challenge announced for Apple Watch users: Here’s how to participate

All you need to do is to close Activity rings (Stand/Move/Exercise) on your Apple Watch everyday. Closing the rings will accumulate points which improves the ranking of your city on the overall leaderboard.

If you are an Apple Watch user, here's another fitness challenge you take take part in. And, for a change, you aren't going to compete alone, you will compete as a city. 

Apple's distributors and authorised resellers in India (Redington and Ingram) have launched the “Get Active India” challenge for Apple Watch users. As explained, the aim of this nation-wide challenge is to encourage all Apple Watch users to get active and stay fit. Interested ones can join the challenge and make their city win. The challenge is said to start from today (February 15) and go until March 14.

All you need to do is to close Activity rings (Stand/Move/Exercise) on your Apple Watch everyday. Closing the rings will accumulate points which improves the ranking of your city on the overall leaderboard.

It’s worth mentioning that participants will earn 12 points each time they close the Move ring. A maximum of 36 Move points can be earned each day. Same goes for the Exercise Ring. Participants will earn 1 point for each Stand hour. Also mentioned is that a maximum of 14 Stand points can be earned each day. What’s more is that participants can earn 12 bonus points each day on closing all three Activity Rings in one day.

You will be awarded an Achievement badge every day on the Challenges App basis the points earned. If you earn 40 points a day, you get a Bronze badge. Earning 60 points and 80 points daily can win you Silver and Gold points.

So, how do you participate in the challenge? Follow these steps.

-Download Challenges App on your iPhone.

-Enter the code ‘India’

-Select the city you would like to represent as your team.

-Cities: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Rest of India.

-Based on the individual’s body weight, participant’s are assigned a Move goal by the Challenges App (The Move goal in Challenges App is not the same as the Move goal you have set for yourself on your Apple Watch.)
