Redmi K40, K40 Pro and K40 Pro+ launched

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K40 series in China. The new smartphone series features Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro+. Redmi K40 starts at CNY 1,999 ( ₹22,500) for the base model, and it comes in four storage variants. Redmi K40 Pro has a starting price of CNY 2,799 ( ₹31,500 approx), and this one is available in three models. The top-end Redmi K40 Pro+ comes in only one storage variant, and it has a price tag of CNY 3,699 ( ₹41,600 approx). All three Redmi K40 smartphones feature an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, punch-hole design and gradient finish at the rear.

Redmi K40 and K40 Pro will be available to purchase in China from March 4 onwards. As for the Redmi K40 Pro+, it will go on sale by the end of March. Xiaomi hasn’t revealed plans of launching the Redmi K40 series outside China, but a report suggests Redmi K40 could launch as a Poco smartphone globally.

In terms of specs, Redmi K40 features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM. The smartphone has a quad-camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra wide angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro sensor. It features a 20-megapixel front camera for selfies. Redmi K40 packs a 4,250mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

Redmi K40 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The smartphone’s triple camera setup features a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 5-megapixel sensor. It has a 4,520mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging support.

Redmi K40 Pro+ comes with the same set of specifications as the Redmi K40 Pro but with some differences. It comes with 12GB of RAM, and it features a 108-megapixel primary sensor on its triple camera setup.
