Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G launches with TRENDY specs to take on iPhone 12!

Finally! Finally! FINALLY! After spending almost half of 2021 in the rumour belt, leaking images and spec sheet, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G is here. Samsung has launched it in the US market only though and there is no information on when other markets, including India will get this phone. The Galaxy S21 FE succeeds the ageing S20 FE 5G and carries a price to take on the iPhone 12.

Yes, the iPhone 12, not the iPhone 13! There are two variants available at launch; one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costing $699 (approx. ₹52,000). The other variant offers 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, costing $769. Note that Samsung India is yet to announce its decision regarding its local availability. The S21 FE 5G is available in White, Graphite, Lavender, and Olive.

It seems the leaks from all of 2021 were accurate with the specs and features of the Galaxy S21 FE. Beating inside the S21 FE is a Snapdragon 888, which is the same chip Samsung uses in the regular Galaxy S21 series in the US. There's 8GB of RAM available along with 128GB storage. Samsung is shipping the phone with Android 12-based One UI 4.0.

The Galaxy S21 FE has a slightly bigger display than the standard S21, i.e., a 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and touch sampling rate of 240Hz. The display holds a 32MP selfie camera inside a punch-hole cutout.

The rear cameras consist of a 12MP ultrawide, a 12MP 1/1.76-inch f/1.8 main camera with OIS, and a third 8MP f/2.4 3X telephoto camera with OIS. Samsung is offering some special camera features such as an Object Eraser tool to remove unwanted elements (like Pixel 6), AI face restoration, and an improved Night mode.

The rear of the phone has some resemblance to the Galaxy S21 but it loses out on the dual-tone colour finish. There's IP68 water and dust resistance rating for durability on this phone.

The circus is kept alive by a 4500mAh battery and Samsung offers support for up to 25W fast wired charging. There's also support of 15W wireless charging.
