Though its Xperia Z3 smartphone range was introduced just months ago (at IFA in September), Sony may be on the verge of announcing its successor. The next generation of premium smartphones from the brand could include the Z4 Ultra and the Z4 Compact, according to Android Origin.
The Xperia Z4 Ultra is said to be an impressive 6.44-inch phablet with a QHD display (2560x1440 pixels), a Snapdragon 810 processor, a 16MP camera and 3GB of RAM. Like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, this high-end smartphone is also said to come with a stylus.
The Z4 Compact, meanwhile, is expected to be the successor to the Z3 Compact, only slightly larger (4.7 inches) and with a higher resolution screen (1080p). According to the leaks detailed by Android Origin, the device will also have two cameras: 20.7MP in the front and 5MP in the back.
The entire new range will be compatible with the latest 4G network standards and is also expected to offer the same IP68 water and dust resistance as the previous generation.
While Sony is rumored to present its new Xperia Z4 at CES 2015 in Las Vegas (January 6-9) or -- at the latest -- at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (March 2-5), the Z4 Ultra and Z4 Compact are not expected to break cover until Q2 2015.
