This is made possible through malware that can enter your iPhone or Android phone through a link or an app without letting you know. These viruses on mobile devices target weak areas in your operating system resulting in data mining, financial gain, or network corruption. Data sharing capabilities are usually blocked between applications, but some of the apps have been suspected of data abuse, making their users more vulnerable to cyber criminals. These cases happen on iPhones as well as Android phones and tablets through rogue apps, infected file attachments, and shady websites. So it is very important to be alert while browsing on the internet or downloading apps. A little bit of carelessness can make you a victim of cyber attacks. To ensure you do not fall victim, there are a few things that you must keep in mind in order to avoid any kind of malicious activity on your phone. ### How to protecting your phone from virus infection 1. Do not click unusual pop-ups, or links in unusual text messages, social media posts or emails as this might be a trap. 3. Only install apps from authorized app stores, such as Google Play or Apple’s App Store. Also, research about apps thoroughly before downloading them as even here there are some apps that have malware on them 4. Avoid jailbreaking or modifying your phone. 5. Check app permissions before installing any app, so you’re aware of what the app will access (rather than blindly trusting it). 6. Back up your data regularly, and keep your phone software updated to the latest version (which will have the latest security patches). 7. Continuously monitor your phone for suspicious activity and trust your gut instincts. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. 8. Avoid installing "optimizing" and "cleaning" apps like Speed Clean, Super Clean, and Rocket Cleaner. In February 2020, numerous malicious Android apps were found disguised as "cleaners" and "optimizers."
