Nokia 5.3, Nokia 8.1 to soon receive Android 11 update

Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 8.1 may be the next in line to receive the latest version of Android. The two phones were spotted on Geekbench running Android 11. According to reports, the update should be available to users later this month.

As Nokiamob points out, Nokia 8.3 5G recently received the Android 11 update. It is worth noting that Nokia 5.3 had launched in August last year, while Nokia 8.1 had debuted in 2018. The Nokia 8.3 5G launched in September last year.

In another Nokia-related news, an entry-level Nokia 1.4 phone is said to be in the works. Spotted by leakster Sudhanshu, the upcoming Nokia 1.4 has the model number TA-1322. The phone will reportedly be available in grey and blue colour options. It is also said come with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. The upcoming Nokia 1.4 is could be priced at Eur 100 ( ₹8,800 approximately).

As far as Android 11 goes, smartphone companies are gradually rolling out the latest version to users. While most of the rollouts have been smooth, some have faced issues. Recently Mi A3 users complained that the Android 11 update was bricking their units.

“It has come to our notice that a few users of Mi A3 are facing issues with the OTA update for Android 11. While the rollout has been stopped already at our end, our teams are working towards resolving the issue at the earliest. Customer experience is our topmost priority and we regret the inconvenience caused. We will keep all our users updated on the next steps,” said Xiaomi after user complaints.
