Here are 6 things you need to know about this newest entrant in the crowd of wearable:

1. You need an iPhone to use it
Can't blame Apple for it: for you to be able to use the watch, you need to sync it to an iPhone. Look at it this way: the watch is nothing but an alternative, but easier, access to your phone. For instance, suppose you got a message, you can see it on the watch screen without having to take out the phone from your pocket. No need to have the latest iteratoins of iPhone for this though. The watch is compatible with the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

2. No one else has used a watch dial in a more creative way
Like the iPod's click wheel, which helped you navigate through a thousand songs on an MPs player, the 'digital crown' on the Apple Watch can be used as a button that can be used to navigate the watch face. You can zoom in and out on the screen, even scroll up and down, without obscuring the device's small face. It is also the home button and launches Siri, the watch's digital assistant.

3. It will be in 3 different models, and in two sizes
Watch out for this: the Apple Watch will come in three different styles -- the basic Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Sport and the Apple Watch Edition. While the Sport model will have a sweat-resistant wrist strap, the Edition will come in an 18-carat gold watch case! And all these three will be available in two different sizes: 38mm and 42mm. And here's the clincher for the fashion conscious: all the watches will be customisable with easily changeable wrist straps.

4. Watch out for its fitness features
The Apple Watch could well be your personal trainer of tomorrow. It will have an accelerometer and a GPS that will constantly track your activities, whetehr you are jogging, cycling or even taking a leisurely walk.

5. It boasts an extremely sensitive screen
The company says that the Watch's technology is one of the most advanced ever used for a watch. It's vibration system, called Taptic Engine, provides haptic feedback that varies based on the context. For instance, the device would vibrate differently depending on whether you neeed to make a right on left turn while using a navigation app. The watch's touchscreen will also be able to differntial between a tap and a press!

6. It's animated Emojis are... literally out of this world
Your favourite yellow emoticon just got an manifold upgrade. On the Apple Watch, you will be able to customise the facial expression of the emojis by simply touching different portions of the figure's face. For instance, you can touch the emoji's mouth to widen its smile or tap its eyebrows to raise them higher. Cool, no?
