Apple WWDC 2020: How, when to watch the livestream, expected announcements, and more

Apple will host its annual developers conference WWDC 2020 on Monday. The annual event, which will be held online this year in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, will witness the company unveiling its next generation of operating system. In addition to software updates, the company is also expected to unveil a bunch of new devices at the event tomorrow.

How to watch the keynote?

The keynote for WWDC 2020 will be delivered by the company CEO Tim Cook on June 22 at 10AM PDT (10:30 PM IST). Apple will be streaming the event via its Apple Events page. If you are an Apple device owner, you can also watch the keynote using the Apple Events app.

What to expect?

As mentioned before, software will be one of the key highlights of the WWDC 2020 keynote. Apple will be unveiling the iOS 14 at the opening keynote event tomorrow. iOS 14, or as some reports say iPhoneOS, will be powering iPhone 12 series smartphones. It will also be available in older iPhones models in fall this year.

In addition to iOS 14, the company will also unveil watchOS 7 that will be powering Watch Series 6. It will come with incremental upgrades over its predecessor and it is expected to come with a new Kids Mode, new Sleep complication and SchoolTime mode.

Additionally, the company will unveil the next versions of iPadOS, tvOS and macOS.

On the hardware front, Apple is expected to unveil ARM-processor-based MacBook. Several reports hint that the company will be ditching Intel in favour of its own chipset. The new MacBook is expected to be available in the market in 2021.

The company is also expected to launch a new iMac computer with a 23-inch display. Word is that Apple could also launch a new Apple TV 4K and the rumoured AirTags at the event.
