Wordle alternatives: Play Worldle, a Geography Spinoff of the popular word game
If you are looking for Wordle alternatives to have more fun, try out Worldle. It’s a geography-based spinoff of the popular word game where you have to guess a country or territory
Wordle, the popular word game created by Josh Wardle in October 2021, is scaling new heights in its popularity every day. But the game does come with a downside - there is only one puzzle every 24 hours. So, if one Wordle a day keeps your fun away, then you can try some Wordle alternatives. Previously, we have talked about Wordle alternatives like Absurdle and Nerdle, and today we have brought another word game that you might really like. The game is called Worldle and it is a geography-based word game that tests whether you can guess countries or geographical territories. Although the name is extremely similar to the original word puzzle, the game itself is quite different. Let us check out what this Wordle like game is all about.
Worldle: A Geography-based word game
Wordle's popularity has resulted in numerous spinoff versions of the game surfacing and some of them are really innovative and fun to play. Worldle is one of them. The game is different in the aspect that while the premise of the game is inspired from Wordle, the gameplay and mechanics of the game are very different. While in Wordle, you have to guess a five letter word correctly, here the main objective is to figure out the secret country or geographic location. Further, unlike Wordle, this game gives you a clue before your first attempt to help you find out the answer in the first try.
This Wordle alternative was created by a developer who goes by the username teuteuf. Worldle deals with geography based puzzles. Once you start the game, you see a silhouette of a country, island or geography that you have to guess. Unlike Wordle, the answer does not have to be limited to five letters. In fact, to help with the guesses, a player only needs to type in a couple of letters before auto suggestions are displayed which then can be clicked to make the guess.
If the user does not make the right guess in the first attempt, the game gives you more clues. Every attempt is followed by three boxes. The first box contains the distance between your guess and the real location of the answer. For example, if you picked India and the answer was South Africa, the first box will display the distance between them to help you know how far off you were. The second box displays an arrow. The arrow's head is towards the position of the secret location. So, if you picked India and the answer was South Africa, the arrow will point towards south-west because that's where South Africa is located compared to India. The third box is a percentage marker highlighting how close you were. The closer you are, the nearer to 100% you get.
Based on these three clues and the silhouette, you now have to figure out the secret location in as few attempts as possible. Worldle does bring a completely new element to the game, which geography fans would really like. To try the game, click here.
