Redmi TV Soundbar to make its India debut soon

After launching in China earlier in May this year, the Redmi TV Soundbar is all set to make its India debut soon according to a report in 91Mobiles that cites tipster Ishan Agarwal as the source of this bit of information. Xiaomi India just announced the Redmi Earbuds 2C and Redmi SonicBass wireless earphones in India yesterday and the new soundbar might be launched this month as well, just ahead of the festive season.

The Redmi TV Soundbar was launched in China at a price of 199 yuan, which is ₹2,50 approx. It came with dual speakers, 45 x 80mm runway-type full-range speakers that deliver 30W sound output. It also came with Bluetooth 5.0 support and support for wired connectivity through S/PDIF and AUX.

The Redmi TV Soundbar measures 78cm in length, 6.4cm in width and 6.3cm in height according to GizmoChina and weighs 1.5kg. Design-wise the soundbar looks minimal and the matte black device can either be wall-mounted or be placed on a shelf.

Reports suggest that the Redmi TV Soundbar will be priced aggressively in India, which is not surprising given how most other Redmi products are positioned.

Rivals Realme just launched their soundbars at an event yesterday. Realme's 100W soundbar comes with four speakers. This set consists of two full-range speakers and two tweeters that gives an output of 60W, complemented with a 40W Subwoofer. The company claims that the soundbar increases the TV sound by 200%. The soundbar is priced at ₹6,999.

Given this, Xiaomi will have to figure out how much it should price the Redmi TV Soundbar to make most of the market.
