The Aadhaar card is one of the most crucial documents required by an individual to avail several services offered by the central and state government. The Aadhar card is also used as an identity proof as it contains the person's name, address, photo, biometric details, etc. Details like demographic information (name, address, date of birth, age, gender, mobile number, email address, relationship address and information sharing address), biometric information (Iris, fingerprints and facial photograph) can be updated. If you want to update photo in Aadhar card then you need to know that there is no online process for the same and you will have to visit the nearby Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Sewa Kendra. However, you will have to apply for change online before visiting the enrolment centre. Here are the simple and easy steps using which you can get your photo updated on Aadhaar card.
How to change photo in Aadhaar card?
Step 1: For carrying out the Aadhar photo update, go to the official website of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) or click on the link- https://uidai.gov.in/.
Step 2: You need to download the Aadhaar Enrolment Form from the website.
Step 3: Provide the required information on the form related to photo change.
Step 4: After filling the required details you will have to submit the form at a nearby Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.
Step 5: Your details will then be confirmed by the executive via biometric verification.
Step 6: The executive will take your new photo at the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.
Step 7: A fee of ₹25 along with GST will be charged from you for the photo change service.
Step 8: You will be provided with an acknowledgement slip with the update request number (URN). This URN will be used to check the update status on the UIDAI website.
It can be noted that the Aadhar card is issued by UIDAI and people can visit the official website of UIDAI for any kind of updates and addressing their grievances related to Aadhaar.
