Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) members can withdraw their Employees' Provident Fund (EPF)or Provident Fund (PF) completely or partially. Complete withdrawal can be done on their retirement or when they remain unemployed for more than two months while partial withdrawal of EPF balance can be made under circumstances like medical reasons, education, marriage, purchase of land or purchase or construction of a house, home loan repayment, among others. Meanwhile, it can be noted that according to the EPF rules, the employees must contribute 12 percent of their basic pay every month to this fund. Also, the employer contributes the same amount to the employee's PF account. The amount deposited in EPF accounts earns interest on an annual basis that is 8.5 percent for FY 2020-21. Employees who want to withdraw their PF balance can know that they can apply for the same offline and online both.

Here we will tell you how you can apply for PF withdrawal online from the comfort of your home. However, before applying for the same you need to know your Universal Account Number (UAN) and mobile number. You also need to ensure that your UAN number is activated and the mobile number should be in working condition.

Other than this your UAN should also be linked with your KYC, that is Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, and the IFSC code.

How to apply for EPF withdrawal online through EPFO website

Step 1: Go to the official website of EPFO or click on the link- https://www.epfindia.gov.in/.

Step 2: Click on 'For Employees' from the Service section.

Step 3: Scroll down and click on 'Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP)' mentioned under Services.

Step 4: You can also avoid the above mentioned three steps and can directly click on the link- https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ to open the Member UAN/Online Service page.

Step 5: Now you will have to log in with your UAN and password and also enter the captcha.

Step 6: Then, click on the ‘Manage' tab and select ‘KYC' to check whether your KYC details such as Aadhaar, PAN and bank details are verified or not.

Step 7: Verify the KYC details and go to the ‘Online Services' tab and select the option ‘Claim (Form-31, 19 & 10C)' from the drop-down menu.

Step 8: A new page will be displayed carrying the member details, KYC details and other service details.

Step 9: You will have to enter your bank account number and click on ‘Verify'.

Step 10: Click on ‘Yes' to sign the certificate of the undertaking and then proceed.

Step 11: After this you will have to click on ‘Proceed for Online Claim'.

Step 12: In the claim form, select the claim you require, that is full EPF settlement, EPF part withdrawal (loan/advance) or pension withdrawal, under the tab ‘I Want To Apply For'.

Step 13: Select ‘PF Advance (Form 31)' to withdraw your fund. You also need to provide the purpose of such advance, the amount required and the employee's address.

Step 14: Then click on the certificate and submit your application. After this the employer will have to approve the withdrawal request and only then you will receive money in your bank account.
