iPhone SOS feature saves a woman's life

This incident was first reported by Wavy. According to them, Kelli Worst was enjoying a Saturday night at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront along with a couple of friends. After having a good time, they all booked a ride home. However, as Worst was about to get into her car, a guy approached her and asked for her help in finding his phone. The guy introduced himself as a military personnel who was an outsider to the town. Also read: How to know if your iPhone or Android phone has been infected by a virus

“I figured he probably has to report somewhere in the morning. He's going to be in trouble if he doesn't get there. I just felt bad for him and wanted to help him, and honestly when he told me he was in the military I felt a sense of safety,” Worst told Wavy.

As Worst called his phone, nobody responded and they could not even hear a ring. When she tried to put the number in the ‘Find my iPhone' app, the notification told her that it wasn't a valid number. That's when the victim gave him her iPhone to let him type the number himself. However, this is when things took an ugly turn. With Worst's iPhone in his hand, he began making sexual gestures towards her. As she tried to run, the guy tackled her and pinned her to the ground.

While making an attempt to escape, Worst found her iPhone back in her hand. Displaying a great presence of mind she activated the iPhone SOS feature. The feature called 911 (US emergency services) and they could hear everything. Fortunately, before anything worse could take place police officers arrived at the scene and the perpetrator was forced to run away.
