Xiaomi Redmi 9 India launch teased for August 4 during Amazon Prime Day Sale: Here are the specs

Xiaomi has just launched its Redmi Note 9 in India and is now planning to introduce the Redmi 9 soon. The smartphone is teased to launch on August 4 (12PM IST). What’s more is that it could be a part of Amazon’s Prime Day Sale, which will begin from August 6. In addition to this, the company has made a webpage live to register for the new phone, which in all likeliness is Redmi 9. It is worth adding that Xiaomi already launched this handset in China last month.

The official teaser tweet from Redmi India states “We heard that you wanted a new #Redmi product? We want you to know that we're all PRIMED up! An all-new #Redmi smartphone is coming to YOU on 4th August, 2020! Get ready to go #BackToPrime with #Redmi”

Xiaomi introduced its Redmi 9 alongside the Redmi 9A and 9C earlier this month. While the 9A is priced at EUR 99 (roughly ₹8,500) for the base model (2GB+32GB), which the 9C starts from EUR 119 (roughly ₹10,200) and Redmi 9 from EUR 149 (roughly ₹12,700).

The Redmi 9 comes in three colour options - Carbon Gray, Sunset Purple and Ocean Green. It has a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with a notch on top and is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G80 processor, paired with Mali-G52 GPU. There’s a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion.

In the photography department, Redmi 9 sports a quad camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, there’s an 8-megapixel camera upfront.

Redmi 9 packs a 5,020mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging along with Quick Charge 3.0. It has a rear fingerprint sensor along with AI face unlock. Connectivity options on the Redmi 9 include USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC.
