Recently, NASA models have detected a partially Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) that can cause a minor geomagnetic storm and spark auroras at high altitudes on November 30.
Due to the Solar Cycle 25, the Sun is quite active and a steep spike has been observed in solar activity. Recently, NASA models have observed a CME that is moving towards the southern hemisphere of the Earth and can cause a geomagnetic storm. This CME is expected to reach Earth on November 30. (Pixabay)

According to reports, the geomagnetic storm is expected to be a minor one, however, it can still spark auroras at high latitudes. Dr. Tamitha Skov, a space weather physicist, posted on X and informed, “The Sun aims south! A partly Earth-directed #solarstorm launched today. NASA & NOAA agree, a glancing blow is expected in early November 30. This one is going mainly south of Earth so minor effects expected. #Aurora possible at high latitudes, #GPS & amateur #radio impacts minimal”. (Pixabay)

The upcoming CME is expected to cause a minor Geomagnetic storm. These storms that travel hit the Earth have the ability to interrupt the operation of technologies such as GPS, radio, and satellite communications.
