After Apple's iPhone event on September 12, the next flagship smartphone event to look forward to will be Google's. The search giant is expected to launch its next-generation Pixel smartphones dubbed Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
The bigger variant of the two, Pixel 3 XL, has been leaked mercilessly with all its design and specifications revealed. The rumour mill has, however, been quiet on the Pixel 3. A Redditor (via 9to5mac) now claims to have his hands on Pixel 3. Live images of the alleged Pixel 3 show a distinct difference from Pixel 3 XL - no notch.
Pixel 3 looks much like its predecessor, Pixel 2, with thin bezels on the top and bottom. The rear panel features the same two-tone colour design with a single rear camera on top and a circular fingerprint sensor. The leak also gives some insight on what's under the hood. Pixel 3 has a 5.5-inch Full HD+ display, a 2,915mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with Adreno 630 GPU.
An interesting find in this leak is that Pixel 3 will feature a dual-camera setup on the front. Google's Pixel smartphones are known to have the best cameras despite the lack of a dual-camera setup. The company could take a different turn this year with dual front cameras. The configuration for Pixel 3 front cameras is two 8-megapixel sensors with f/1.8 aperture.
While this is still only a leak and nothing can be confirmed, the absence of notch could be a delight for many users. Google Pixel 3 XL will, however, sport a notch cut out, based on several reports. In comparison, Pixel 3 XL will possibly come with better features in terms of display, battery and cameras.
