Garena Free Fire Max vs Free Fire: What is different with the new version?
Garena Free Fire Fire Max is now available for download alongside the original Free Fire. We take a look at what’s different with the new game.
After a long wait, Garena Free Fire Max is finally available for players to download on both Android and iOS devices. Free Fire players have been long waiting for this version along with the OB30 update for the regular Free Fire game. Free Fire Max launches just weeks ahead of the highly anticipated PUBG: New State.
If you belong to the Free Fire squad, the Free Fire Max update is a significant step up from the original game that was launched way back in 2017. Garena promises new and improved graphics quality as well as an overall gameplay experience. At the same time, it also says that existing players can carry over their gameplay progress as the basic gameplay remains unchanged.
But what are the differences? Why should you download and play Free Fire Max if you already have Free Fire installed?
Free Fire Max: What has changed from Free Fire?
Better Graphics
The primary reason for Free Fire Max to exist is offer a better visual experience. With Free Fire Max, Garena has updated the graphics system to include Ultra HD textures. This should result in a higher quality gameplay experience while playing battle royale matches.
Players will need to have beefier smartphones in order to make the most out of Free Fire Max. Garena does not specify if Free Fire Max has support for faster frame rates on the modern-day high-performance smartphones.
Improved animations
Along with updated textures and resolutions, Free Fire Max will also feature improved player movements and weapon animations. This promises gameplay immersive experiences while you are surviving to win the matches.
Improved draw distance
Free Fire Max is also taking advantage of high-end devices to render higher draw distances. Hence, if you belong to the sniper squad, you will now have a much better chance at eliminating your enemy from farther distances.
Free Fire Max: What remains the same?
Core gameplay
Garena makes it clear that Free Fire Max is essentially the same game with improved graphics. Hence, players should not expect an entirely new game similar to PUBG: New State. You will still land in a match of 50 players, wherein you can have a squad of up to four people fighting together. Garena is even letting players use Firelink to sync their gameplay from the original Free Fire.
Same features as OB30 update
Free Fire Max will also get the same feature that Free Fire gets as part of the OB30 update. The new Craftsland Update will let players build and share their own maps. Airdrop Vending Machines are now available in Battle Royale along with the new Replay System (also available in Clash Squad).
