Your iPhone has a secret trick that lets you schedule a text message in advance. Here's how to do it on iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and other iPhones.
Texting is all about having a real-time conversation, but sometimes, there are instances when you want to send a message well ahead of time in order to make it reach at a precise time. In such cases, scheduling your message is the best solution, so that you don't miss out on sending an important one on time, simply because you may forget. The iPhone 13, iPhone 12 schedule feature can be quite useful in ensuring that you do not skip sending birthday, anniversary wishes on time or even professional ones to colleagues and bosses.
If you have iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, or any other model running on iOS 13 or the newer OS, then you have this option to schedule the messages in advance! But you should know that iMessage doesn't allow you to directly schedule the messages, however, Apple's own app has a solution. It is the Shortcuts App, which is available on your iPhone, if not, then simply download it from the App Store. Interested to know how it will work? How to schedule a text message on your iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and more
Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
Now click on the Automation option available at the bottom of the screen.
If you are doing this for the first time, then tap Create Personal Automations. Else, just click the + symbol in the top-right corner of the screen and choose to Create Personal Automation.
Here, you will need to tap Time of Day and adjust accordingly and choose how often to repeat it. Note that this creates an automatic message shortcut on a recurring basis. But you can do this for a single time, read on to know how.
Once, you set the time then tap Next and select Add Action.
You will need to choose the contact and tap Next.
Now, click on "Message" and then continue after typing your message.
Double-check your automation and deselect the Ask before running option. After that, all you need to do is just tap Done.
But if you want to keep this message scheduled only for a single time, then simply delete the automation once the message is sent. You will need to swipe the name of the action to the left and tap Delete.
