India has gathered the most bounty since the inception of Facebook's bug (a flaw in the site's security) hunting contest in 2011 according to a report. Facebook has estimated to have made payments worth ₹4.84 crore to Indian hackers who have found loopholes in Facebook's products' security.

According to a post by Adam Ruddermann from Facebook's security team, "India has long topped the list of 127 countries whose researchers contribute to our bug bounty program. It also holds the top position for the country receiving the most bounties paid."

But Indian hackers aren't just doing well in terms of quantity, Facebook says that they're receiving increasingly high impact bugs from Indian bug hunters.

The bounty a hacker gets paid varies based on the harm possible form that bug. As Ruddermann's post explains, "potential impact of the bug, what could possibly go wrong, and who would be affected."
