Apple's latest operating system, iOS 16, is all set to hit the iPhones today at 10PM. Yes, Apple Apple had announced the iOS 16 release date at its FarOut event alongside the launch of iPhone 14 lineup, Apple Ultra smartwatch, Watch series 8, Watch SE and AirPods Pro 2. The new software update will bring several exciting features including customizable lock screen, always on display, edit and unsend iMessages and others as announced during Apple annual developer conference held in June this year. The iOS 16 public beta version has already been released and today, it will be available for all. Know which iPhones will get the iOS 16 update and how you can install it.

iOS 16 supported iPhones

Every iOS release comes with a major feature upgrade and a bunch of minor improvements across the board. Apple tries to support almost all iPhone models in every new iOS release but there are a few older models that are not on the list due to their hardware limitations. This time, the new iOS software will support iPhone 8 and above models. The list includes iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone SE (2nd generation or later).

How to update your iPhone to iOS16?

Before you start the update, back up your data so that you don't lose any. Also, make sure that your phone is charged and then head to install iOS16.

Step 1: Go to Settings of your iPhone and then head to General

Step 2: Now tap on software update and then click on the Upgrade to iOS 16 at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Now, download and install the iOS16. Once installed, you can access the Focus modes, or set up your new lock screen.
