However, with so many of your personal and crucial details saved on these machines and even online, you also need to be cautious of not getting hacked. According to a report by The Sun, millions of PC and Mac users, whose personal data could be at risk, have been issued an alert by cyber experts.

With the increasing dependency on the internet, hackers and cyber criminals are coming up with different ideas and techniques to fool people. They are so good at it that it becomes really difficult to detect if it is a trap. In such a situation to help people, 10 red flags have been suggested by the cyber experts which can be a sign of you being hacked. "Now cyber-experts at VPNOverview have issued a list of 10 warning signs that your PC or Mac may have been compromised," The Sun stated in a report.

The cyber experts as quoted by The Sun said, "According to 2022 Statista data, there were 2.8 billion malware attacks in the first half of the year worldwide. As malware becomes increasingly difficult to detect, it may be difficult to determine whether your device has been compromised."

Here are the 10 signs or red flags that you should be looking for to identify a cyber attack:

1. Your webcam is recording without your authorisation.

2. Your computer has become slow.

3. Your task manager is disabled.

4. Your browser often gets redirected.

5. Your computer heats up frequently.

6. You have strange browser activity.

7. You receive a ransomware attack message.

8. You have been logged out of websites you automatically log in to.

9. You have weird programs installed on your computer.

10. You frequently get strange pop-ups on your desktop.

However, it needs to be noted that these signs do not always confirm that you have been hacked. But, if you notice any of them, you should be on high alert and should also take some precautionary measures. Some of the precautionary measures include-

1. Changing your passwords.

2. Installing a reputable anti-virus such as Norton 360, McAfee or BitDefender.

3. Never click on the links provided in the suspicious looking emails.
