Sorry Pokemon Go players, some Covid 19-related in-game changes are going away

To help Pokemon Go players participate in the game through the ongoing pandemic, Pokemon Go had rolled out a series of in-game changes to make it easier for players to be a part of the action. Niantic has now announced that some of the temporary bonuses it had added in-game will remain active but some of the other changes are going to be rolled back on October 1 (that’s tomorrow).

In April this year, Pokemon Go had added a feature where your buddy Pokemon would gather gifts from nearby Pokestops even if you had not left your home. Now, the buddy is going to do that only if you are running low on items.

The distance you need to walk to hatch eggs is going to go back to where it was earlier (not half anymore) and the incense used to attract Pokemon will also have increased effectiveness only while walking.

These rolling back of changes is Niantic’s way of encouraging activity and movement at a time when pandemic restrictions are being relaxed in many areas globally.

Of course, the players are not happy and have requested Niantic on social media to rethink these rollbacks. Players considered these changes to be much-needed in-game improvements and want them to stay.

What is going to remain after October 1 includes maximum 20 gifts in an Item Bag at one time, three times the Stardust and XP for the first Pokemon you catch per day and the incense duration remains at one hour.
