After Android version, screenshots show voice message playback control feature on iOS

Just a day ago it was revealed that Facebook’s most popular instant messaging app, WhatsApp, will soon bring the ability to let users control the playback speed of voice messages. This means users would be able to hear the audio message in three different speeds - 1.0x, 1.5x and 2.0x. The feature was spotted by WABetaInfo, which reported that this is coming to both Android and iOS. However, the screenshots only showed how the feature would look like on the Android version. Now, the same website has showcased the interface on iOS.

From the looks of it, one can see that the playback speed indicator is placed right below the profile image, inside the audio recording chat bubble. It’s the same as what was seen on the Android counterpart and is pretty straightforward. Users can adjust the playback speed of the voice message by tapping the speed label on the voice messages. At the time of revealing the screenshots for the Android version, the website mentioned that WhatsApp would also support lower playback speeds, however, they won’t be released for the public as they make less sense.

It has duly mentioned by the website that there is no launch date fixed for this feature as it is still under tests.

Meanwhile, the same website has posted another piece of information stating that WhatsApp is planning to offer WhatsApp Web Beta program for iOS and Android beta users soon. This program will be compatible with both WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business apps and it will enable users to use WhatsApp Web without having to keep their phones connected to the internet.
