A new mobile app is now letting Mumbaikars stay informed when on the move. Besides providing a comprehensive list of 2,250 restaurants, 700 movie halls and art galleries and 15,000 plus shops among others, Contact Diaries also offers consumer reviews on the happening spots and offers in the city. If that's not all, you can also use the map available to reach these places and avail of the discounts. Over 7,000 people have made use of the app so far.

The brainchild of two entrepreneurs, Raunaq and Pavan Hemdev, Contact Diaries took almost a year in the making. Most of this time was spent gathering information.

Pavan says, "When I returned from London, I wanted to know about shows, timings, best restaurants and didn't have anything that would give me this information. Also, I wanted something that was quick and available. So I came up with this idea to make an application, which gives information anytime, anywhere."

Today, the app allows you to review and rate everything, be it movie or play timings, fine dining and nightclubs. You could also get details on the best spas or parlours, dance classes, exclusive shopping and outstanding offers, the location of your closest florist, and even emergency services. "We are different because we target more of the lifestyle sector and supplement the personal needs of today's youth."

And there is more in store. Pavan says, "In the coming two to three months we will introduce more platforms more like the iPhone, Nokia and all the tablets."
