Google Assistant’s ‘incognito’ mode won’t save your queries: Here’s how it will work

Google has announced a new feature for its Google Assistant that will keep your voice queries private and won’t save it in its database. Calling it as the ‘Guest Mode’ this new feature is optional and can be enabled at any point. This will be coming soon. However, enabling the mode won’t give you a personalised answer since it will be working independently and won’t be connected with the rest of your account data.

“With an easy voice command, you can turn on Guest mode, and your Assistant interactions while in this mode won’t be saved to your account. You can turn off Guest mode at any time to get the full, personalized Google Assistant experience again,” said Rahul Roy-Chowdhury, Vice President of Product, Privacy, Google.

Also mentioned is that users have the option to  go back and delete what you said to the Assistant just using your voice, in case you don’t want to let Google save certain information. Also, the search giant is helping users get more familiar with the privacy and security of Google Assistant.

“We’ve added even more answers to common questions about security and privacy that the Assistant will answer instantly. In fact, we answer more than 3 million privacy and security questions per month, globally,” added Chowdhury.

Google has also announced a redesigned security alert for all its apps. The firm is making it easier to edit your location history data, and adding a guest mode to Assistant. The new critical alert will appear irrespective of the Google app being used at the time. Currently, Google sends out emails to notify users of potential risks to their accounts.
