HTC U11 Life, U11 Plus with Edge Sense technology launched: Specifications, features

After having launched a premium smartphone 'U11' earlier this year, HTC on Thursday expanded its U-series with two new smartphones - HTC U11 Life and HTC U11 Plus. Both the phones come with HTC's Edge Sense technology, which allows users to 'squeeze' the side frames to access shortcuts to various functionalities of the smartphones.

While the HTC U11 Life went on sale in the US today with a price tag of $349 (₹22,500 approximately), the U11 Plus will be available in select markets in coming weeks for €799 (approximately ₹60,200). HTC hasn't disclosed details about the availability of the two phones in India.

HTC U11 Life: Specifications, features

The U11 Life sports a 5.2-inch Super LCD display with full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 630 processor coupled with 4GB RAM. The smartphone comes with 64GB built-in storage. The company is also offering a 3GB + 32GB variant in select markets.

In the camera department, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel rear snapper with PDAF, BSI sensor, HDR mode and f/2.0 aperture. The camera is also capable of shooting videos in 4K resolution.

It has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with same set of sensors as the rear camera and can shoot videos in up to full HD resolution.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, Cat 9 LTE, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi and GPS. It is powered by a 2,600mAh battery.

HTC U11 Plus: Specifications, features

The U11 Plus is more of a premium smartphone with a large screen. It has a 6-inch display with 1440 x 2880 pixels resolution. It runs Android Oreo and is powered by Qualcomm's top-end Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4/6GB RAM.

The smartphone comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera f/1.7 aperture and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. In terms of connectivity, the HTC U11 Plus supports Bluetooth 5.0, Cat 9 LTE, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi and GPS.

It is powered by a 3,393mAh battery. The HTC U11 Plus is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
