Meet Belkin’s first MagSafe charger for as many as three iDevices

We have talked at length about Apple’s new MagSafe wireless charging tech and the MagSafe Duo accessory as well that saw a limelight of a split seconds during the iPhone 12 launch event. However, while talking about it, the company also showcased third-party MagSafe charger by Belkin. And surprisingly, none of them have been made by Apple themselves. We are specifically talking about Belkin BoostCharge Pro MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger that costs $149.95 and  MagSafe Car Vent Mount Pro that is priced at $39.95. 

What makes BoostCharge Pro MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger unique is the ‘3-in-1’ factor. This means the device can wirelessly charge as many as three iDevices at once. Even Apple’s MagSafe Duo is limited to two devices. While Apple’s MagSafe Duo can charge one iPhone 12 product and one Apple Watch, Belkin’s 3-in-1 charger can additionally charge AirPods.

While one arm has a 15W MagSafe wireless charger, the base is a wireless Qi charger with 5W charging speed. As for the build, it has a stainless steel and matte finish, something that most iDevices have these days.

The MagSafe Car Vent Mount Pro clips directly on to the AC vent  has a rotating ball joint so you can easily adjust the angle or rotate it from vertical to horizontal orientation. And since MagSafe has ‘Mag’nets in it, the iPhone 12 won’t really fall off.

But there is a major drawback. 

Belkin’s MagSafe Car Vent Mount Pro is just a car mount and nothing else. It does not charge your iPhone 12. This also makes it just another pricey phone holder.

We can only hope that other third-party companies are able to make a MagSafe car mount that can actually charge the iPhone 12. OtterBox is one of the vendors that is working on Apple’s MagSafe tech-based accessories. Both Belkin products are said to arrive later this year.
