HMD Global on Tuesday launched two new smartphones, Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus, in India. Priced at ₹15,999, Nokia 6.1 Plus will be available from August 31 via Nokia’s e-store and Flipkart.com. HMD Global will announce the price of Nokia 5.1 Plus next month. Nokia 6.1 Plus is a mid-range Android smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor and a premium design. It has 5.8-inch 19:9 display with full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It comes with dual-cameras and a 16-megapixel camera for selfies. The phone is powered by 3060mAh battery. The smartphone runs on Android One (Oreo) out-of-the-box. Nokia 5.1 Plus is a budget Android One phone. It also comes with dual-cameras featuring 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors.
Nokia 6.1 Plus will be available from August 31 for Rs 15,999. Pre-orders will begin in a few minutes. Nokia 5.1 Plus will be available in September. The price will be announced later.

Nokia 6.1 Plus aka Nokia X6 is one of the few phones from HMD Global to come with a notch display. The notch design, however, seems heavily inspired by Apple’s iPhone X. Of late, brands like Vivo have been able to deliver full-screen experience without including a notch in the display.
Android One affiliation means users are guaranteed to receive Android updates and security patches from Google for at least next two years. HMD Global is one of the key parters for Google’s Android One initiative.
