Apple to launch an affordable Watch on September 15: Details on design and features leaked

Those following Apple closely may have come across a recent Bloomberg report stating that Apple may launch an ‘affordable’ version of Watch this year. This might replace Watch Series 3 and compete with the likes of Fitbit. The same has now been confirmed by tipster Jon Prosser. In a tweet, Prosser confirms that this ‘affordable’ watch will be introduced on September 15 during the virtual event and it will have a similar design as Apple Watch Series 4. The wearable is also said to come in 40mm and 44mm sizes.

Since it is a lower priced Apple Watch, it will definitely be lacking some features. Two of them are ECG app and the Always-On display. Interestingly, the watch is also supposed to have an old M9 motion chip, which was found in iPhone 6s, original iPhone SE and the 5th-gen iPad.

Also mentioned is that Apple recently filed more unreleased Watch models in the Eurasian Economic Commission Database, giving away a possibility of launching this and a premium Watch series 6 later this year.

Apple announced its September 15 event a couple of days ago. The company, via an update on its events page, unveiled that it will be hosting a special event at Apple Park on September 15 at 10AM PDT (or 10:30PM IST). Apple typically hosts its annual event at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, which is attended by hundreds of people from all across the globe. However, this year, the company will be hosting the event virtually the way it hosted WWDC 2020 in June this year.

The much-anticipated iPhone 12 phones are not expected to show up in this event.
