How to fix payment issues on Google Pay

Is your internet connection working?

Yes! Basic need for digital payment - Internet! First of all, check if your data or WiFi is working fine. If not then try to restart your WiFi or ensure that your phone is connected to the internet connection. Try to switch off your internet once and restart. Also, if you have a very slow connection, you will most certainly face problems in making Google Pay payments.

Check your verified number

Your phone number is the primary medium through which Google can verify your identity. Do ensure that you have entered your correct number. On the chance that your number is incorrect or outdated, then updating the number is quite simple. Just open your Google Pay app and click on the profile picture. Then select the Personal Information in Settings. Here you will find your Mobile number, check if it's correct or not and update it accordingly.

Have you verified your card?

Google Pay is just a medium to pay your bills and the rest of the transactions. The payment always goes through your bank account connected via your credit or debit card. Verify if all your connected cards are up to date and whether they are verified or not. If there is any problem, you won't be able to make your payment.

Update the App!

Same as the internet, there are chances that your app is either not updated or having some trouble at the back end. Simple trick is to go to the Google Play Store, and check for Google Pay if it requires any update or not. If Google Pay is not updated, then ensure to do so. Else, uninstall it and reinstall. Note, once you reinstall the app, you will need to verify your phone number and cards again for the security purposes.
