Apple is likely to launch a cheaper iPhone with 5G Internet support in the first quarter of 2022. The new smartphone is speculated to be from the cheaper iPhone SE range – which currently doesn't have a 5G option. Bloomberg journalist and long-time Apple tracker Mark Gurman in his recent newsletter tipped that an iPhone SE 3 is on the way. This handset is expected to launch during Apple's first event of the year to be held in March or April 2022. However, he has not confirmed that the device would be named iPhone SE 3 or iPhone SE 2022. The most interesting part about the iPhone SE 3 is the introduction of 5G connectivity at a cheaper price than iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series. The iPhone SE 3 price is speculated to be around or below $400. So, if you are in the market to buy a phone, it is suggested you wait for the launch of this new phone and check out its price and specs.

The iPhone SE was designed to attract users who don't want to spend too much money. It was a cheaper option that ran alongside the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The device borrowed most of its design for the iPhone 8, like a 4.7-inch display along with a Touch ID button on the front. However, it shipped with more powerful components than the iPhone 8 including a faster processor and more capable camera. Though the current SE phone only features a 7MP front-facing camera, the upcoming headset is speculated to be packed with a 12MP sensor along with night mode, cinematic mode, and photographic styles.

It's expected to feature the A15 Bionic chip bundled with up to 3GB of RAM, the same as the iPhone 13 series and have a camera close to the iPhone 12.

Moreover, the iPhone SE 3 handset is also rumoured to get a storage boost up of 128 GB.
