Oppo A74 5G to launch in India today

Oppo is launching a new 5G smartphone, Oppo A74 in India today. Oppo A74 5G has been confirmed to be priced under ₹20,000 in India. This would make the smartphone their cheapest 5G offering in India yet. Oppo A74 5G has already made its debut as it was launched in Thailand earlier this month.

The launch event for Oppo A74 5G is scheduled to take place later today at 12 pm. The smartphone will be available on Amazon India which already has a microsite and a ‘Notify Me’ button as well. Oppo launched the A74 4G as well but there’s no word on its India launch yet. Speaking about the Oppo A74 5G, the smartphone features a punch-hole display, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It comes in two colour options of Fluid Black and Space Silver.

In terms of specs, Oppo A74 5G has a 6.5-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood of the phone runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor paired with AdrenoTM 619 GPU. It comes in only one variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

On the Oppo A74 5G you get a quad camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor and an 8-megapixel sensor. The smartphone houses a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies. Some of the camera features include night mode, pro mode, panorama, Portrait mode, time-lapse, Slow-motion mode, Text scan mode and Google Lens.

Oppo A74 5G is fuelled by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. On the software front, it runs Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 on top. In addition to a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Oppo A42 5G also supports face unlock.Connectivity options on the Oppo A74 5G include dual SIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, 5G and 4G LTE. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
