Chrome ‘Reading List’ feature appears to be enabled in latest Canary version

Google Chrome is the most widely used browser in the world, thanks to its popularity across platforms and the fact that it is preinstalled on all Android devices that come with the Google Play Store. Google is constantly adding new features to the service, such as the arrival of the hidden Reading List to the browser this month.

While Google only added support for Reading List in the form of a Chrome Flag that enables the feature in version 89 of the browser that was released on March 9, it now looks like Google has already begun testing a new setting to enable and disable the reading list from appearing in the browser, according to a report by Android Police.

The reading list which looks like it could come to Chrome as an official feature in the coming weeks (or months) is a feature that allows users to save links they want to look at later instead of simply bookmarking them. The service is similar to the features provided by services like Read It Later, Pocket and Instapaper, although Google’s mode is rather barebones at the moment and only functions as a link collection service.

According to the report, the latest version 91 of Chrome Canary enables the Reading List by default and allows users to use the right-click of the mouse button on the toolbar under the address bar to access the regular bookmark manager. This will allow users to toggle hiding and showing the reading list button, which will appear under your account image.

Users on the latest Canary Build can try to enable the reading list from their bookmarks toolbar by right-clicking an empty space and then make sure the option called Show reading list is toggled on or off, as required.
