The budget smartphone market in India has been competitive for a while. Makers are trying to pack in as many features as possible into a single product at the lowest possible price. But, in recent times, there has also been a rise in the number of 'plus' models, which add a little more to the traditional upgrade. The Moto G4 Plus is one such example.

What's good: The G4 Plus doesn't disappoint on most fronts. It is light and just the right size, making it easy to grasp or carry around in your pocket. The device comes with a small tray to convert a nano SIM to a micro SIM. This is probably the phone's most useful feature. Another big plus is the turbo charger: it almost entirely charged the device in 20 minutes. In terms of performance, the phone delivered when we played games, browsed videos on YouTube, and checked our email, often simultaneously. The fingerprint sensor was accurate, and the phone came with most of the features that Motorola is known for such as assist and gestures.

What's not: The camera isn't the greatest. In daylight, the images were a little hazy and the quality deteriorated further in low-light conditions. The phone heated up while put on charge, making it a little too hot to handle for some time. In terms of the design, there isn't too much of a difference from the maker's earlier-released variant.

Verdict: The phone is a worthy upgrade to the earlier Moto G model, but will face tough competition from rivals to capture the audience's attention.
