WhatsApp users can book a Uber cab within the app! Yes, you don't need to access the Uber app to call for a cab. Just a message and a WhatsApp chat box will ask you all the required details to book a Uber cab. This will be only for Delhi-NCR users for now. From user registration, booking a ride, and getting a trip receipt - everything will be managed within the WhatsApp chat interface.

"Starting this week, we are rolling out an exciting new service that gives people of Delhi NCR the option to book an Uber ride via our official chatbot on WhatsApp. Riders will no longer need to download or use the Uber app,” Uber officially announced. This comes after a global first for Uber, which was rolled out in Lucknow back in December 2021. Now, Delhi-NCR users have a chance to access the new interesting feature in English as well as Hindi languages.

Not just that, Uber also ensures all safety features in case of emergency. If the user selects the “emergency” option while on the trip, they will receive an inbound call from Uber's customer support team, Uber explained. Step 1:

Step 3:

The chatbox will then be asked to provide pickup and drop-off locations just like the Uber app. 

Step 4:

Soon, you will receive upfront fare information and the driver’s expected time of arrival.

Don’t worry, Uber assured that riders will get access to the same safety features and insurance protections as they get via booking a cab on the Uber app.
