WhatsApp has rolled out this feature for WhatsApp Beta users for now. (Reuters)

One of the most popular instant-messaging apps in the world, WhatsApp has revolutionized the way people commincate with each other. Gone are the days of boring SMS or struggling to send images via multimedia messages. Now, WhatsApp has over 2 billion active users every day ding everything possible with just a few moves of their fingers. Back in 2018, WhatsApp introduced the “delete for everyone” feature. It allowed users to delete sent messages on their phone as well as on the recipients'. Initially the duration for this feature was within 7 minutes. Now it allows you to delete over 2-day old messages. WhatsApp has now brought the ability to recover deleted messages.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has rolled out this feature for its Beta users for testing purposes and it will likely be coming for everyone soon. WABetaInfo even shared a working screenshot of the said feature. Although WABetaInfo reported that this feature was only meant to recover messages deleted via the “Delete for Me” option, and not the “Delete for Everyone” option.

So, go ahead and give this feature a try yourself if you're one of the few lucky ones enrolled in WhatsApp's Beta program. If it is not working for you, then we might suggest updating your WhatsApp Beta to the latest version. This feature is in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.22.18.13. Sometimes newly rolled out features are not instantly accessible to every Beta user. So, you might have to wait a little before you can try it out for yourself.
