SBI customers can get most of their banking details on WhatsApp! Know how to register for the SBI WhatsApp service.

Online banking and apps have made it easier for users to access most of their bank details at home with just a login. But banking services are now getting even simpler! You don't need to log in to the bank website to check your account information. Just open WhatsApp and get your bank account details. To make it accessible to all its users, now India's largest bank, the State Bank of India has launched the SBI WhatsApp Banking service for its customers. Now, you can use messaging services to know your account balance and fetch statements.

SBI confirmed that as part of the SBI WhatsApp service, you can now check your Account Summary, Reward Points, Outstanding Balance, make card payments and do much more. However, do know that currently, SBI Card's WhatsApp service is available for SBI Credit Card-holders. Know here how to register for SBI WhatsApp banking service.

SBI WhatsApp banking service: How to register in easy steps

Step 1:

First of all, to register for the SBI WhatsApp banking service, you will need to send an SMS to 7208933148 by typing WAOPTIN XXXX to 5676791, where XXXX is the last 4 digits of your card number.

Step 2:

Ensure that you send the SMS only from the registered SBI account. This will send you a confirmation message from 90226 90226 once the registration for WhatsApp banking will be successful. 

Step 3:

The next step is to keep the number 90226 90226 saved. 

Step 4:

Send ‘Hi’ to the number mentioned +919022690226. This will popup a message reading, “Dear Customer, Welcome to SBI Whatsapp Banking Services! Please choose from any of the options below. 1. Account Balance 2. Mini Statement 3. De-register from WhatsApp Banking” 

Step 5:

You will need to select option 1 to know your account balance. Just type 1 and it will give you the required details. Similarly, tap 2 to get the mini statement.
