Want to change Aadhaar photo? Here's how to do it

Aadhaar card holders can get their photo changed that is appearing on their cards. Here are the steps you need to follow for the same.

Do you like the picture of yours on your Aadhaar card? Well, not everyone is happy with the same and many want to change it. You can also change your picture on Aadhaar. If you want to update a photo on your Aadhar card then you need to know that there is no online process for the same and you will have to visit the nearby Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Sewa Kendra. However, you will have to apply for the change to be made through the online mode before visiting the enrolment centre.

It can be noted that an Aadhaar card is one of the most crucial documents required by an individual to avail several services offered by the central and state governments. The Aadhar card is also used as an identity proof as it contains the person's name, address, photo, biometric details, etc. One can also get details like demographic information (name, address, date of birth, age, gender, mobile number, email address, relationship address and information sharing address), biometric information (Iris, fingerprints and facial photograph) updated on the Aadhaar.

How to change Aadhaar card photo?

Step 1:

Visit the official website of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) or click on the link- https://uidai.gov.in/.

Step 2:

You need to download the Aadhaar Enrolment Form from the website.

Step 3:

Provide the required information on the form related to photo change.

Step 4:

After filling the required details you will have to submit the form at a nearby Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.

Step 5:

Your details will then be confirmed by the executive via biometric verification.

Step 6:

The executive will take your new photo at the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.

Step 7:

A fee of Rs. 25 along with GST will be charged from you for the photo change service.

Step 8:

You will be provided with an acknowledgement slip with the update request number (URN). This URN will be used to check the update status on the UIDAI website.
