Android's next instalment Nougat is soon going to start rolling out to Nexus Devices and the 7th version of the operating system has some cool feature.

While LG V20 will be the first smartphone that comes with Nougat out of the box, Google is promising seamless updates to manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony.

However, Android is still suffering from a low adoption rate. Currently on 12% of Android devices are running the previous version -- Android Marshmallow, which is very low for an OS which has completed a year.

Here are some cool features of the new operating system:

Doze on the go: Android Marshmallow had improved battery life with the doze mode. The mode would kill CPU activity if the phone was stationary. But Android N or Nougat takes it to the next level. Even if the phone is in a pocket or in the bag as long as it not being used, it will go into Doze mode saving more battery.

Notifications and multi-window feature: Simplicity is the name of the game. Andorid N has cleaned up the UI and users now can reply to a notification just from the bar itself just like in the new iOS 10 beta update. Long pressing the notification will show options to either remove the notification or interact with it in a different way. Coming to the multi-window feature, Android N will allow users to perform tasks both in split-screen mode or picture-in-picture mode. The new OS will let users decide the space for each window by tinkering with the divider, and it will work on Android tablets, TV sets as well.

New camera app: The stock camera app on Android will now come with three grid options including 4×4 grid, golden ratio overlay and a standard square. This will help the user during uploads to different websites which have different acceptance sizes for images.

Data saver: This feature is sure to be a hit in India as it is one of the most price sensitive markets when it comes to data. The data saver will let a user restrict data usage for select apps in their smartphones. This will help those on a limited data pack per month, and keep a tab on apps which are data hogs. If the device is on a metered network, the system blocks background data usage, and signals apps to use less data in the foreground wherever possible.

Vulkan 3D: The new Vulkan 3D rendering API will result in a "boost in performance for draw-call heavy applications." Vulcan is now a part of the Android platform and will ensure better graphics performance, especially for gaming.

DayDream: This new feature is a part of Google's virtual reality (VR) platform. With the inclusion of the new feature, Google will be able to soon bring in VR centric Google Play Store, Street View, and Photos.
