Snapchat has released a special lens to celebrate India’s 72nd Republic Day. There’s also a section of community-made lenses for Republic Day on Snapchat.
The new Snapchat lens features a cap with the tricolour and ‘Happy Republic Day’ message appearing at the centre of the photo. The tricolour is also visible at the bottom of the photo. Snapchat users can take a selfie with the new lens and put it up as a story or share it with their friends on the app. The new Snapchat lens can be found through the lens carousel below the camera lens.
Snapchat has also made a dedication section in Lens Explorer for all the community-made lenses. The section is titled ‘Indian Republic Day’ and it features different lenses including one with a tricolour turban, tricolour in a heart, and more. Snapchat users can browse through the different lenses and try them out.
Snapchat has one of the biggest libraries for AR-based lenses. It also regularly introduces lenses for different occasions and festivals in India, and other countries as well. It has previously rolled out Diwali lenses, Halloween lenses, Independence Day lenses and more.
Twitter has also released a special emoji honouring the Indian Air Force on Republic Day. The emoji shows three IAF aircrafts moving in formation in a flypast, with the Indian tricolour depicted in coloured smoke. It can be activated with the hashtag #TouchTheSkies in 10 regional languages other than English. The emoji is available on Twitter till January 30.
