Your OnePlus 3 and 3T to have improved camera, smart Wi-Fi switcher and more

Keeping to its promise, OnePlus has released OTA updates to debug and better experience on the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The new update to the Oxygen OS also solves two security issues of the phones.

As promised, Chinese handset-maker OnePlus has started rolling out updates to its flagship smartphones to make some features of the phone work better.

OnePlus has now started rolling out OxygenOS 4.0.3 update for OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphones. Not only there are several improvements to the platform, the latest update, based on Android 7.0 Nougat, brings pre-installed Amazon Prime app for users in India.

How can you get the update? Like all updates this one too shall reach users via over-the-air (OTA) route. Once the update is ready, a user will get a notification asking to download and install it. The update also solves two security issues on the smarphones including a bootloader issue.

Additionally, the new 4.0.3 update also brings a new optimised Smart Wi-Fi Switcher, which switches to data connection in case the Wi-Fi signal is consistently poor. The update also brings in increased stability of the camera app. It also carries an optimized exposure feature for clicking pictures at night time. Interestingly, Amazon Prime App will now be pre-installed for India users.

In terms of specifications, the OnePlus 3 comes with a 5.5-inch display (401ppi), Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. The Qualcomm processor is complimented by a 6GB RAM and 64GB storage option.

In terms of optics, the OnePlus 3 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera and a eight-megapixel front shooter. The phone comes with USB-C port (Dash Charge 5V/4A), a fingerprint scanner, NFC, Bluettoth 4.1 and a dual-SIM feature. The phone, which runs on Android Marshmallow at the base with Oxygen OS on top, draws power from a 3,000 mAh battery.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 3T comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and a 128GB storage option. Most of the other features are nearly the same as the OnePlus 3.
